Grown in the Wimmera region of Western Victoria by Stephen and Tania Walter of Burrum Biodynamics. The Walters place their focus on soil health by applying biodynamic preparations to activate the soil microbiology. Soil fertility is also improved with multi species cover crops, use minimum/correct tillage techniques and grow food without using chemicals nor water soluble fertilisers.
After harvest, the oats are sent to Blue Lake Milling, in Bordertown South Australia, before being sent to Sovereign Foods.
What makes these oats so quick? Well they aren't your run of the mill oats, they are a little smaller. They are the bits that are fall through the final screen during sorting at Blue Lake Milling when they are processing Burrum's oats for us. Especially for those that want a super quick, creamy porridge in the morning, these are for you. Also great for baby food, as it makes for a very smooth porridge. Beyond this, you should also try adding it to your favourite bread recipe, SOOO GOOD!
