A naturally sweet, caffeine‑free powder milled from the pods of the carob tree. This raw carob powder retains the full flavour and nutritional character of the fruit—earthy, naturally chocolaty, and mild. Use it as a cocoa substitute, in baking, smoothies, desserts, or wherever you want a gentle, sweet depth without stimulants.
About Raw Carob Powder
Raw Carob Powder is naturally lighter in colour (compared to roasted carob powder) and has been milled without being heated, giving it a pure raw carob taste. During processing, the temperature does not reach over 40ºC. Raw carob powder has a sweet, smooth, malty taste with a slight sharpness that isn't found in roasted carob.
Raw carob powders are high in protein, are rich in fibre, contain essential vitamins and minerals and are a healthy alternative to most snack foods. Carob powder is excellent for baking, cooking, smoothie beverage preparations and other no-bake recipes.
Carob has been given a bit of a bum rap in Australia, with many parents trying to sell it to kids as being "just like chocolate". But that does carob a great disservice. With its own unique flavour profile, carob is amazing in all sorts of treats from cakes, slices, biscuits and hot drinks.

FAQs
How does raw carob differ from roasted carob powder?
Raw is milder, lighter in colour, and retains more enzymatic and flavour compounds. Roasted gives a deeper, darker cocoa‑like flavour and aroma.
Is carob powder naturally sweet?
Yes – carob naturally contains sugars and has a mild sweetness, so many recipes using it require less added sugar.
Does it contain caffeine or theobromine?
No. Carob is naturally free from both caffeine and theobromine, unlike cocoa.
Can I substitute carob for cocoa 1:1?
You can, though because carob is sweeter and less bitter, many bakers reduce added sugar slightly or blend with cocoa to balance flavour.
