Every pecan has been grown, harvested, cracked, dried, sorted and packed on farm, which protects the delicate oils and preserves the true flavour of fresh pecan.

Organic Pecan Enterprises is a family orchard in Junction View, Queensland, and the historic home of Australia’s oldest pecan trees. Warren and Christine Huston grow, harvest, crack, dry, sort and pack every pecan on their farm, which means a radically short distance between tree and final product. This protects the delicate oils that make pecans taste so buttery and aromatic.

What makes these pecans special
This product consists mainly of whole and three quarter halves, with minimal small pieces. They come from a balanced mix of proven pecan cultivars selected for flavour, consistency and performance in Australian conditions. This means you get that satisfying “snap” of whole kernel structure, rather than a bag of crumbs.

Why do these pecans taste fresher than imported pecans?
Because they are cracked, dried, sorted and packed on the same land they were grown, the time between harvest and packing is very short. The oils have not oxidised from sitting in a shipping container.

Our Bags are made from brown recycled paper and have a 100% natural corn-based compostable biofilm. All you need to do is pop off the label before you put it in your compost (We are looking for a cost-effective compostable solution to our labels). These bags are a good short term but are not completely airtight. When you get your goodies home, be sure to pop your products into a jar and store them in a cool, dry place out of sunlight. You can reuse these bags around the house as a short-term solution to keep things dry and reduce air contact.
