Sustainability is at the heart of what we do at Sovereign Foods. From the way we source to the way we pack your order, we are consistently striving to improve the way we do things to reduce our impact.
Here are a few of the things we are doing to meet those goals:
Responsible Sourcing
The main goal of Sovereign Foods is to support farmers who care for the land and its future
Renewable Energy
Sourcing 100% renewable energy from Energy Locals and our own Solar array
Recycling
Where possible, we reuse our cardboard boxes for packing and shipping our online orders. This helps reduce the amount of virgin material required for new boxes.
Enabling reuse
We have set aside some time to open our warehouse to enable our local customers a chance to reuse their packaging to reduce the amount of packaging in landfill.
Compostable and Biodegradable Packaging
Where possible and appropriate, we use biodegradable packaging for all aspects of our operations to reduce waste. Our bags, filling material, even the packing tape, pallet wrap and shipping labels are biodegradable.
Building Community
Since we began, community has been at the heart of who we are. We have worked tirelessly to ensure that we enable strong community resilience in all aspect of our lives, by supporting local communities all over Brisbane.
